Stefano Rizzi graduated in Business Economics at the University of St. Gallen, specializing in small and medium enterprises. Following a working experience in the private sector from 2000 to 2005 (as an auditor for Ernst & Young and as a social security consultant for SwissLife), since July 2005 Stefano Rizzi has been working for the government of Canton Ticino.
He started his career in the institution as an economic consultant for the Economic Development department; then, since August 2009, he entered the executive team of the Department of Finance and Economics. Since January 2012 he directs the Economics Division (www.ti.ch/economia).
Moreover, Stefano Rizzi holds important positions in the fields of labour market and economic development: he is President of the Tripartite Commission, President of the Commission for economic innovation, Vice-president of the AGIRE Foundation, member of the BancaStato “Centenario Foundation”, Vice-president of Ticino for Finance and member of the Swiss Venture Club Prix jury for Southern Switzerland.
